Business Development Lead

 

 

 

The Business Development Lead is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing and expanding strategic client partnerships, and developing solutions that align with business needs. This role requires strong commercial acumen, a deep understanding of technology consulting services and a proven track record in business development within the tech sector.

Key Responsibilities

  1. New Business Development
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of new prospects across target industries.
  • Engage prospective clients through outreach, presentations, networking and industry events.
  • Lead proposal development, solution shaping and commercial negotiations.
  • Work with our Technology Consultants to help them identify and develop their own individual networks with a commercial focus.
  1. Account Growth & Client Relationship Expansion
  • Expand revenue within existing accounts through cross-sell, upsell, and multi-service engagement.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers, influencers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure excellent client experience, leading to repeat business and referrals.
  • Identify gaps, emerging needs and new opportunities within current client portfolios.

3. Strategic Account Planning

  • Develop account plans for major clients including growth targets, engagement strategies and campaign planning.
  • Monitor account health, contract renewal timelines and client satisfaction metrics.
  • Drive long-term strategic partnerships rather than transactional engagements.

4. Solution Development & Collaboration

  • Work closely with technical teams to craft tailored technology consulting solutions.
  • Translate client challenges into well-defined scopes of work and proposals.
  • Support pricing, contracting and project onboarding processes.

5. Market Intelligence & Positioning

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor positioning and evolving client demands.
  • Provide actionable insights to refine Enablis’ services and go-to-market approach.
  • Contribute to case studies thought leadership and marketing initiatives.

6. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline updates and sales forecasting.
  • Prepare regular performance reports for leadership.
  • Support strategic planning and revenue modelling exercises.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • A demonstrable track record in business development, account management or consultative sales.
  • Demonstrated success growing existing customer accounts in a tech or consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT, cloud, digital transformation, infrastructure, or related domains.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence C-suite stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms.

Preferred

  • Experience in a technology consultancy or managed services organisation.
  • Exposure to cloud migration, cybersecurity, DevOps, AI or IT modernisation strategies.
